Airport Lounge Access with Priority Pass

Airline travel can be stressful enough without the airport experience contributing to that also. Here is some helpful information on Priority Pass Lounge Membership.

Airport lounges can be an oasis in an otherwise chaotic airport experience.  Consider an airport lounge membership, especially if there is a lounge in your home airport.

Priority Pass Lounge Membership

Priority Pass is the world’s largest airport lounge program with over 1200 airport lounges.

Lounge access can be $40 to $50 per visit.  With Priority Pass, depending upon your membership, you can get discounted visits or free visits.

Depending upon how often you go, would determine which membership you would get.  Free access with the Prestige membership is the best deal if you fly a lot.

A great benefit of Priority Pass is that it is independent of which airline you fly.  You can fly any carrier and get into a PPL as long as you are a Priority Club member.

Not all airports have lounges.  Check Priority Pass to see if there is a lounge in your airport.

Typical Lounge Perks

Airport Lounges offer a quiet spot away from the chaos of the airport gate.  Seats are much more comfortable, and usually not crammed right next to each other.

The lounge in Lima, Peru even had massage chairs.

Most lounges offer food.  Some offer hot meals, whereas others simply offer snacks.  This is possibly my favorite perk, as a bag of pretzels just doesn’t cut it anymore, and I’m not a big fan of paying crazy airport prices for a simple meal.  A slice of pizza for $8 is just ridiculous.

Many lounges have business centers with computers and printers.

Many lounges have a bar.  Free alcohol is always a nice perk.

The lounges have their own bathrooms and separate wifi access.

Some lounges even offer free showers.

How to get Priority Pass as a Credit card perk

Paying for a membership is not your only option.

The following credit cards offer Priority Pass as a card member perk

  • Chase Sapphire Reserve
  • Chase Ritz Carlton
  • American Express Hilton Aspire
  • American Express Hilton Ascend
  • American Express Platinum
  • Citi Prestige

Note that these premium credit cards have high annual fees.

Some Airports Without a Lounge have Restaurant Access

Some airports do not have a lounge, but rather offer a $28 credit to an airport restaurant.

For example, in St. Louis (STL) you can eat at The Pasta House with your $28 credit.

In Denver (DEN), Priority Pass members can get $28 credit at Timberline Steaks & Grille.

Of course this only makes sense if you get a membership that offers free lounge access, as $28 credit for a $27 fee doesn’t make a lot of sense.

Lounge access can be a great travel perk.  Make your airport experience less stressful with Priority Pass lounge access.  Get it free with certain credit cards.
